How it works

DTE electric residential customers who purchased a qualified air purifier on or after January 1, 2023 may be eligible for a rebate.

The qualifying room air purifier must meet ENERGY STAR® specifications. Review our Qualified Room Air Purifier List and purchase an ENERGY STAR®-certified room air purifier. Limit of one air purifier rebate per customer. Refurbished or resale units do not qualify for a rebate.

Please note: If you received an instant discount when purchasing your new unit at a retail store you are not eligible for an additional rebate.

Apply for your rebate online. It’s easy:

1. Fill in the name and address of the DTE account holder and the DTE account number. (Your account number is available on your paper bill or online account).
2. Include a copy of the original receipt that shows date of purchase, model number, name of the manufacturer and name of the retailer. (Don’t have a digital copy? We also accept pictures of documents taken with your smartphone.)
3. Include the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR). The CADR can be found in the product specifications and is often printed on the product package. CADR is a measurement of the volume of filtered air delivered by a portable air purifier.
