AutoPay

Customers who maintain an overdue balance of 90 days or more are not eligible for this payment option. Also, customers who have had two or more payments returned by their financial institution may not use a checking or savings account. Any customer enrolled in AutoPay meeting one of these conditions will be automatically removed from the program and will be ineligible to re-enroll for a period of 12 months.

If enrolling in AutoPay online, your enrollment will be effective the next business day. If today is your due date, please make a one-time payment as your AutoPay enrollment will not be effective until the next business day.

If you are enrolling by mail, we will process your request two to three business days after receiving it. If your bill is due within the next few days, please make a one-time payment to avoid any late fees.

Once you are enrolled, the My Current Bill page will show the amount that will be withdrawn on your next due date.

Yes, enrollment in AutoPay does not affect your paper bill. If you'd like to reduce the amount of paper you receive, consider enrolling in eBill Paperless Billing.

To update, change or add a new payment method for AutoPay, follow these simple instructions.

Yes, even though you are an AutoPay customer, we will accept any payment amount at any time. On the due date, DTE Energy will take out the remaining balance.

For example, imagine your account currently has a $15 statement balance that will be automatically paid by your AutoPay program on August 17. However, on August 10, you log in and make a one-time payment of $10. On August 17, DTE Energy will only automatically take $5 from your elected payment method.
